We have an opportunity for a young person (16-24yrs) to train through the Government Apprenticeship scheme to become a chef. The candidate is required to attend college 1 day per week (6 hours) and work for us for 24 hours per week on the apprenticeship rate of pay. Uniform and equipment are provided. Working hours are evenings and weekends but flexibility is essential. Its an opportunity to learn while you work. We are very passionate about food and cooking and are looking for someone with the same enthusiasm to join our team. If this is you or you know someone who may be interested please get in touch.
Cookery School @54
Cookery classes limited to 4 places per session. Within sessions participants learn new skills/techniques, watch demonstrations, participate in dish preparation, then eat the fruits of their labour!
Cookery sessions …..
Each participant will observe how food is
prepared. They will be guided on how to cook their own dish and the art of plate presentation. All food and equipment will be supplied, and all those who take part will receive handouts that they can keep.
Participants may bring a guest with them to watch the session and refreshments will be available for them to purchase if they wish to do so. It is also possible for participants to cook an additional portion of their dish for their guest (which will be charged for accordingly).
Sessions can be purchased in gift voucher form.
The only requirement ...... a flat pair of shoes.

We went to the shellfish cookery session. In 2 hours we made a king prawn, chorizo and bisque starter, then went on to preparing dressed crab. It was really well paced, used truly great ingredients, and learned a lot of new skills. The course was backed up with a comprehensive handout. All in all it was a great experience we shall be repeating. We're booked on the tapas course next; after that, Kevin the chef says he'll run bespoke courses on any aspect of cookery we like!
