Thought we would give this place a try after reading reviews on here, we were the only diners in but it was early, we opted for the set menu :) soo nice, we had to wait a while which meant that the food was being cooked freshly, we enjoyed all our meals very much and even my husband went to shake the chefs hand to say thank you :) will be returning here and would defo recommend :))

What our guests say about us
Here are a sample of some of the reviews, from a variety of sources, we have had since we opened in May 2008.
This was one of the best meals out we have had in a long time. The food is amazing, the service is perfect and the atmosphere really friendly & relaxing. Can not recommend highly enough we had a perfect evening and can’t wait to return
Visited Remembrance Sunday hadn’t booked but received a friendly welcome. We both went for the board special of Ossobuco served with fresh vegetables and fab roast potatoes followed by creme brûlée....all was delicious. Nice bottle of house rose competitively priced to accompany the meal. Good value all round.
The food was very tasty and nicely presented we were greeted with a smilie and the staff were very attentive great meal worth every penny.

“enjoyable evening”
“Consistently fine Glossop restaurant” With an ever-changing menu, exciting theme nights and lovely Staff, we have never been disappointed here. The vegetables are the freshest you will ever
taste and the chef is truly adventurous with sauces for meat and fish. The restaurant is very vegetarian friendly and there's a well chosen, reasonably priced wine list.

Great food, brilliant service, accommodating for children's needs, all you can want from a local restaurant.
Excellent food , menu changes on a regular basis, never had a bad meal at this restaurant.
Friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble, request promptly attended to.
HAD A FINE SUNDAY LUNCH, BEST FOOD AND SERVICE WE HAVE HAD IN A LONG WHILE. ONE OF THE PLACES WE HAVE RECOMMENDED TO OUR FRIENDS.......
Been to this restaurant three times now & still not been disappointed. Service is excellent / Food is very top class......
We visit the restaurant for most of the themed events which are always astoundingly good value for money. The staff are attentive without being 'in your face' and are very welcoming. The more we go to the restaurant the more we feel part of a unique experience of enjoying gourmet food . The chef is outstanding. The service is always unhurried and accompanied with an explanation of the recipe if requested. Thanks for providing a good English restaurant.
Driving my eldest daughter back to Uni in Sheffield, we took a route through Glossop which we had never visited before. Imagine our surprise to find a seriously good Restaurant in the High Street. The decor was pleasant, the service friendly and professional and the chef produced fine, good quality interesting dishes - the Gnocchi in Mornay sauce was plate-lickingly delicious and the Baked Croquettes of Goat's Cheese were magical. And to complete the journey, a chocolate fondant pudding that John and Gregg would consider MasterChef quality. An excellent find and we are already looking forward to our next visit.....
