This was one of the best meals out we have had in a long time. The food is amazing, the service is perfect and the atmosphere really friendly & relaxing. Can not recommend highly enough we had a perfect evening and can’t wait to return

Visited Remembrance Sunday hadn’t booked but received a friendly welcome. We both went for the board special of Ossobuco served with fresh vegetables and fab roast potatoes followed by creme brûlée....all was delicious. Nice bottle of house rose competitively priced to accompany the meal. Good value all round.

Thought we would give this place a try after reading reviews on here, we were the only diners in but it was early, we opted for the set menu :) soo nice, we had to wait a while which meant that the food was being cooked freshly, we enjoyed all our meals very much and even my husband went to shake the chefs hand to say thank you :) will be returning here and would defo recommend :))

“Worth a visit”

The food was very tasty and nicely presented we were greeted with a smilie and the staff were very attentive great meal worth every penny.

“Little Gem in the High Peak”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 June 2013 - Called in without any idea about what we would receive and was really impressed. Small menu (as it should be!!) but superb local meat and fresh vegetables. High Peak lamb with goats cheese mash was an interesting but delicious choice, accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables......

“enjoyable evening”

4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2013 - Good ambience, varied menu, well presented food which was imaginative and tasty. Good service without being intrusive.

“Wonderful family restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2012 - This is the sort of family restaurant you expect to find in France or Italy but hardly ever see in Britain. We go regularly. The standard menu is quite limited, but this means that they have got it to perfection - like home cooking. Vegetables fresh and tasty - a good test of a kitchen. The kitchen, by the way, is open and you always get a cheery nod from the busy chef......

“Consistently fine Glossop restaurant”5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2012 - With an ever-changing menu, exciting theme nights and lovely Staff, we have never been disappointed here. The vegetables are the freshest you will ever taste and the chef is truly adventurous with sauces for meat and fish. The restaurant is very vegetarian friendly and there's a well chosen, reasonably priced wine list.

Review by Havi (11th September 2009)

We visit the restaurant for most of the themed events which are always astoundingly good value for money. The staff are attentive without being 'in your face' and are very welcoming. The more we go to the restaurant the more we feel part of a unique experience of enjoying gourmet food . The chef is outstanding. The service is always unhurried and accompanied with an explanation of the recipe if requested. Thanks for providing a good English restaurant.

Review by The Boy Who Wanted To Choose His Own Dreams (25th February 2009)

Driving my eldest daughter back to Uni in Sheffield, we took a route through Glossop which we had never visited before. Imagine our surprise to find a seriously good Restaurant in the High Street. The decor was pleasant, the service friendly and professional and the chef produced fine, good quality interesting dishes - the Gnocchi in Mornay sauce was plate-lickingly delicious and the Baked Croquettes of Goat's Cheese were magical. And to complete the journey, a chocolate fondant pudding that John and Gregg would consider MasterChef quality. An excellent find and we are already looking forward to our next visit.....
